Last week we got a *somewhat* surprise visit from my best friend from college, Shiloh, and her two little boys. I say somewhat because it was actually supposed to be a complete surprise but Adrian never checked his email so he didn’t confirm to her so Shiloh just ended up calling me a couple days prior and making sure it was ok that she came down and visited. Duh! Of course it was ok!
They got in on Monday and Mackenzie and Andrew got along so well. They just played together a whole bunch. No fighting. They did play outside for a little bit but the mosquitos are relentless this year and started eating away at our sweet little ones. Oh well. After the kiddos went to bed that night Adrian went to the grocery store so Shiloh and I could just hang out. We did some crafty stuff and just sat and talked.
The next morning we had planned on going to the zoo since I have a membership but OF COURSE the one day I don’t want it to rain….it does. A lot. So those plans were scrapped. Instead we went over to my dad and Shane’s fire station so Andrew could see a fire truck up close for the first time. He absolutely loved it. And of course Mackenzie always loves seeing the fire truck.
Then we headed back to the house for lunch and a bit more playing.
Shiloh was heading to another friend’s house for the afternoon and evening so on her way out we headed to Ritter’s Frozen Custard (a very important stop here in Katy) and had some yummy ice cream.
Unfortunately then it was time to say goodbye. Mackenzie of course gave lots of hugs and kisses. She walks about Andrew all the time now. I’m so glad they got along so well and I’m so glad they were able to come visit!

Thank you for being such a lovely hostess! All of us had a great time and it still cracks me up how much Andrew loved all the little girl toys he never is exposed to. Someday our families will make it on a week long vacation together, I just know it!
